Hello Members and Friends,
It is with great sadness and much hope for our future I must inform you we will be shutting our doors for the last time October 31, 2018. We hope to someday soon be able to open our doors once again in a new location; but that is not on the horizon at this time.
Artists, we will let you know as the next 2 months progress what our plan is for the removal of work. We would like to have a sale and a farewell to our building that has given us so much joy and angst for the past 5 years.
The Arts Council and our presence in the town is far from over. We are in talks with many other organizations to assist in the continued growth of Arts and Culture in our Community. If you are on Main Street and see our door open, please stop in see us, pick up information on our upcoming events and programs, and say farewell to a beautiful old building.
Thank you for your continued support

Current and Future Status of the Speedway Centre for the Arts – 1340 Main Street
The Speedway Arts Council would like to address recent changes to the current and future status of the Art Gallery located at 1340 Main Street in Speedway.
The Speedway Arts Council, which is composed of local residents and member artist, have been working closely with the Speedway Town Council, Speedway Redevelopment Commission and the Town Manager’s Office to ensure the growth and development of the Arts in Speedway, Indiana. We are aware that the future of the building we currently occupy, in the coming months, will no longer house the Speedway Centre for the Arts. Together as a group, we are developing a plan to do what is best for the Town of Speedway and the Arts in this community. One of our goals is to find a home that will meet the needs of the council, artist, and residents; we want to ensure our next home will be a source of pride for a growing community. In order to do this it will take time and effort from all people involved and we would like to ask the residents of Speedway for their support.
We cannot stress enough that we have been aware of our status in the building and are working closely with the Town of Speedway in a productive and positive manner.
We are not sure when we will be closing our doors but we will do so knowing we will open with a fresh perspective in a new venue sometime in the future. In the meantime, we will be working closely with the community to provide programs to benefit the creative and cultural needs of our residents.
